Big Roar is a pokie from Indigo Magic released in 2023. The game uses an African safari theme, with a lion, wild animals, nature symbols, Wilds, Scatters and elements of a jackpot bonus mode appearing on the reels.

The playing grid has 5 reels and 3 rows. Players can select 5 or 10 active paylines, while the number of lines automatically doubles during free spins. The main version has a theoretical RTP of up to 95.75%, volatility is high, and the maximum win reaches 5000x the stake. Alternative RTP versions appear in some reviews, so it is useful to check the operator’s paytable before playing with real stakes.

Game features

• Jackpots
• Buy Bonus
• Lion Claws
• Stacked Symbols

Wild symbols help create winning combinations by substituting for standard paying symbols. A distinctive feature of Big Roar is that free spins are triggered by a winning combination involving the Lion Wild rather than by the standard requirement of 3 Scatter symbols.

Scatter symbols work through Repeat Pays in the bonus mode. They can repeatedly pay a value linked to the launch or development of the free spins. This makes Scatters part of the bonus maths rather than simply a trigger.

Bonus features

Free Spins are the main bonus feature in Big Roar. The mode begins after a win involving the Lion Wild. A Scatter Repay value is then set, and every Scatter symbol appearing during free spins can repeatedly pay that amount.

Additional Wild wins during the bonus may increase the number of free spins and improve the Scatter Repay Value. The feature can therefore develop progressively when Wild symbols continue to land.

Lion Claws appear on the outer reels during free spins. When the lion’s claws appear at the same time on the left and right, the player receives one of the jackpots. The official description states that these jackpot rewards can exceed 1000x the stake on a single spin.

Buy Bonus allows direct access to the free spins when the option is available from the operator. In demo mode, the bonus purchase can be tested without real money to understand Wild wins, Scatter Repeat Pays and jackpot claws more quickly.

Theme and style

Big Roar is styled as a bright safari pokie centred on the king of the animals. Its visuals feature creatures of the savannah, natural landscapes, warm shades and the lion as the main symbol. The game has an energetic atmosphere with an emphasis on bonus events and large Wild wins.

The game belongs to categories including animal pokies, safari pokies, adventure pokies, nature pokies, video pokies, pokies with Free Spins and pokies with a bonus buy. It suits players who enjoy an African theme, high volatility, Wild mechanics and bonus spins with extra prizes.

Player popularity

Big Roar is seen among players from Finland, Norway, New Zealand, Austria, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. Interest in the game is linked to the Indigo Magic brand, safari theme, selectable paylines, Free Spins through Wild wins and the maximum of up to 5000x.

The pokie may suit players who enjoy animal games, bonus rounds, jackpot elements and an unusual method of triggering Free Spins. High volatility makes the gameplay feel riskier, so demo mode is especially useful for learning the bonus frequency and payout behaviour.
