Big Roar — a slot by Indigo Magic released in 2023. The game has an African safari theme: the reels feature a lion, wild animals, nature symbols, Wilds, Scatters, and bonus-mode elements with jackpots.

The game grid consists of 5 reels and 3 rows. The player can choose 5 or 10 active paylines, while the number of lines automatically doubles during free spins. The theoretical RTP of the main version is up to 95.75%, volatility is high, and the maximum win reaches 5000x the bet. Alternative RTP versions appear in some reviews, so before playing with real stakes it is useful to check the paytable with the specific operator.

Wild symbols help form winning combinations by substituting for regular paying symbols. One distinctive feature of Big Roar is that free spins are triggered by a winning combination with the Lion Wild rather than by the standard 3 Scatter symbols.

Scatter symbols in the bonus mode work through Repeat Pays. They can pay a repeated value linked to triggering or strengthening the free spins. This makes the Scatter more than just a trigger and an important part of the bonus mathematics.

Bonus features

Free Spins are the main bonus feature in Big Roar. The mode is triggered by a win involving the Lion Wild. A Scatter Repay value is then set, and all Scatter symbols during the free spins can pay that value repeatedly.

Additional Wild wins during the bonus can increase the free-spin counter and strengthen the Scatter Repay Value. As a result, the bonus mode can develop gradually if Wild symbols continue to appear on the grid.

Lion Claws appear on the outer reels during free spins. If lion claws appear on both the left and right sides at the same time, the player receives one of the jackpots. The official description states that these jackpot rewards can exceed 1000x the bet on a single spin.

Buy Bonus lets the player purchase access to free spins if this option is available from the operator. In demo mode, the bonus purchase can be tested without real money to understand more quickly the mechanics of Wild wins, Scatter Repeat Pays, and jackpot claws.

Theme and style

Big Roar is designed as a bright safari slot centred on the king of beasts. The visuals use savannah animals, natural landscapes, warm shades, and the lion as the main symbol of the game. The atmosphere is dynamic, with an emphasis on bonus events and large Wild wins.

The game falls into the following categories: animal slots, safari slots, adventure slots, nature slots, video slots, slots with Free Spins, and slots with bonus buy. This format can suit players who enjoy an African theme, high volatility, Wild mechanics, and bonus spins with additional prizes.

Popularity among players

Big Roar is seen among players from Finland, Norway, New Zealand, Austria, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. Interest in the game is linked to the Indigo Magic brand, the safari theme, selectable paylines, Free Spins triggered by Wild wins, and a maximum of up to 5000x.

The slot can suit users who enjoy animal-themed games, bonus rounds, jackpot elements, and an unusual Free Spins trigger. High volatility makes the gameplay feel riskier, so demo mode is especially useful for learning the bonus frequency and payout behaviour.
