Apes of Doom — Stakelogic
Apes of Doom — a slot game by Stakelogic released in 2021. The slot is themed around a city taken over by apes: they control banks, safes, gold and other riches, while the gameplay revolves around an unusual reel structure with multipliers.
The game uses an unusual layout: 4 main reels with symbols and 3 additional Multiplier Reels between them. Formally, the slot has 10 paylines, but it feels different from classic 5×3 games. RTP is 96%, volatility is high and the maximum win reaches 3351x the stake. The bet range is usually 0.10–100.00, while enabling Super Stake doubles the spin cost.
Game features
- Wild symbols
- Scatter symbols
- Free Spins
- Multiplier Reels
- Super Stake
- Bonus Buy
- Retriggers
- Win multipliers
The main feature is the Multiplier Reels. These reels sit between the main reels and display multiplier values. When a winning combination forms, the multipliers can be applied to the payout and significantly boost the result of the spin.
The Wild is a golden banana. It substitutes for regular paying symbols and helps form combinations on active paylines. The Scatter is linked to Free Spins: 3 Scatters award 10 free spins, while 4 Scatters can award 15 spins.
During Free Spins, the multiplier mechanic becomes more important. Matching and non-matching Multiplier Reel values can be combined and applied to wins, making the bonus the main source of larger payouts. Additional Scatters during Free Spins can retrigger the feature: 3 Scatters add 5 spins and 4 Scatters add 10 spins.
Super Stake doubles the cost of a spin but increases the chance of entering the bonus. Bonus Buy lets the player purchase Free Spins directly if the feature is available at the operator.
Theme and style
Apes of Doom uses a comic-book adventure style. The reels feature colourful apes, a golden banana Wild, safes, banking symbols, city details and card values. The slot falls into the categories of animals, apes, city, adventure and video slots.
Stakelogic presents the game not as a standard jungle slot, but as a story about apes taking over a city. Visually, it is more modern and slightly chaotic: banks, riches, safes and an urban atmosphere replace tropical forests.
Popularity among players
Apes of Doom may appeal to players who enjoy unusual Stakelogic slots, high volatility and multiplier bonuses. The maximum win of 3351x is not extreme, but Multiplier Reels and Free Spins make the gameplay more unpredictable and dynamic.
The slot may appeal to players from the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and New Zealand. It is especially suited to those looking for a video slot with apes, Free Spins, Super Stake, Bonus Buy and an unusual reel structure.
