Beam Boys is a video pokie from Hacksaw Gaming released in 2024. The game uses an unusual futuristic theme: mechanical cats, laser beams, a dark colour palette, neon styling and a humorous idea involving kittens with laser pointers create a distinctive atmosphere for a modern pokie.

The playing area has 6 reels and 4 rows. Instead of fixed paylines, the game uses 4,096 ways to win. The main RTP version is listed at 96.35%, while Extreme mode is shown at 96.26%, and operators may also offer lower-RTP versions. Volatility is switchable: Normal / Low is designed for more frequent smaller wins, while Extreme targets rarer but larger payouts. The maximum win reaches 12,500x the stake.

The main game mechanic is Wild Rows. A Wild Laser Cat can appear on reels 2–6 and fire a laser beam to the left across the same row. Every position covered by the cat or its beam becomes Wild and helps create winning combinations. These Wilds appear more often in the bonus game, making Free Spins a key part of the game’s potential.

Theme and style

Beam Boys uses a science-fiction and robotic style. The reels feature mechanical cats, laser beams, trophy-like loot, card symbols, Scatter FS symbols and dark futuristic elements. The game fits categories such as cat pokies, robot-themed pokies, laser pokies, science-fiction pokies and video pokies.

Hacksaw Gaming uses a minimalist and high-contrast visual approach: a black-and-white base is combined with bright laser effects. The game does not rely on a classic fruit or beach theme and instead focuses on spreading Wilds, switchable volatility and a fast pace.

Popularity among players

Beam Boys is particularly visible in public listings for Canada, Finland, New Zealand and Norway, and may also appeal to players from the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Australia. The Hacksaw Gaming format suits players who enjoy modern high-potential pokies with unusual themes and a choice of risk level.

The game may suit players who enjoy 4096 ways, Wild Rows, Free Spins, Bonus Buy, FeatureSpins, switchable volatility and a high maximum win of up to 12500x.
